 imon Baxter was born in London and following a successful Grammar School education he attended Navy Training College and graduated as a Navigating Officer.
His principal hobbies of Photography and the Motion Picture Industry proved too much of a pull, and after 3 years at sea, Simon firstly joined Ilford Ltd. and then United Motion Pictures where he became a successful Film Cameraman working with the BBC, LWT, Thames TV and numerous other TV Production companies.
He subsequently joined the 3M Company where he became Sales and Marketing Manager of the Motion Picture Products Group and was then head hunted to the position of Sales and Marketing Manager at Technicolor Ltd., servicing companies in Film Production, Sales and Distribution. In 1985 he was appointed to the main Board as Sales and Marketing Director and was instrumental in improving the profitability of the company over the subsequent years.
In 1997 he formed his own company-Simon Baxter Associates (SBA) offering production and management consultancy services to the Motion Picture and Television Production and Entertainment Industries. Simon was invited, on a non-exclusive consultancy basis, to join The Film Management Group as Sales and Marketing Director. He also joined the Board of The Great Entertainment Group, and The Motion Picture Bond Company of Canada.
He is also currently a Director and Executive Producer of two Film and TV Production Companies, Chronicle/Mirror and Open Eye, bringing a valuable range of services to each production, including finance, tax incentives and production/post production services. He is also a Director of Komodo Productions, a documentary production company.
Simon is a member of The British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA), The Production Guild of Great Britain, The Variety Club of Great Britain and the British Kinematograph Sound and Television Society (BKSTS). He has traveled extensively for both business and pleasure, enjoys photography, golf and other sports and the Film and Entertainment Industries.
